Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Gordon Aamoth, who serves patients throughout the State of Minnesota.

Dr. Aamoth is a reputable orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries, diseases, and disorders of the body’s musculoskeletal system. 

Practicing medicine in Minnesota, he is affiliated with the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, and Fairview Southdale Hospital.

Back in 1966, Dr. Aamoth earned his medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He then served his internship at San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center in 1967, and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco in 1973.

With a focus on adult reconstructive surgery, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
